I'm not saying you're not correct, I'm simply saying show your proof. (in other words, put up or shut up. )

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. As of yet, I've seen absolutely zero evidence that GW has become slower for the majority of the community, which is what would be required for your claim to have any weight.
Oh, and even if it was true, and you could prove it, then what? This is a 5 year old game. It's not making money any more. I wouldn't blame them if they did something like this as a cost-cutting measure to keep the lights on.

Because they promised us quality gameplay, why wouldn't i want it? And for that matter why don't you? Lol that was like their whole gimic, great gameplay and quaility service without monthly fees.

And they did a great job when lots of people bought their games; I started having lag issues shortly after EoTN. The lag doesn't bother me that much because I've spent over 3500 hours playing the game (much more than my money's worth), and it's understandable if they can't ensure the same quality forever without a stable cash influx.

Take a look at steam by the way. Any of those games across the steam platform are free to play and none of them are giving me these high abnormal pings and fluctuations. Even if i look for a server with the highest ping i can find, i still get low stable latency. Much better then what anet is giving. Just proof that games can run well on my internet connection shaping and all. But not guild wars.

Again, you need to point me to those games because the few that I've played (such as Alien Swarm) gives me connectivity issues. If you can give me the names, I can try them out and respond to your post.

Halflife 2,Counter strike source Tf2, Left for dead 1 and 2 i get very low ping in all these games. Alien swarm also i had no issue with and although i dont remember the ping now i did download that game last week when it was free i just can't remember exactly. I will test it later and report back, its not really relevant i know but np lol. Modern warfare runs great too. Also i play sacred 2 and titan quest from time to time when im really bored and although there are no ping meters in those games i've never had a network related lag issue or disconnect from either of those games. I think the valve games might run on udp ports though so maybe that is why they are faster. I'm not sure what port numbers i havn't checked actually.

The Drunkard, Alien Swarm gives me major problems. From just dropping a game, not being able to connect, lag, and more. But I don't have any problems with high ping in Guild Wars.

Alright, thanks for the info. No one ever responds to me in-game when I ask about problems so I wasn't sure what was going on.

Will check the games out this weekend.

[email protected]!M, I am curious who is your current provider?
I ask because alot of the traffic shaping discussion on dslreports back in 2007/8 was about providers in canada traffic shaping. Not much since then but there was some kind of legal action back then.
Another thing I just found looking on the site is that throttling was deemed legal in Ontario!!! You may be barking up the wrong tree on this if that is true.
ROFL these guys even offer a no throttling guarentee:

Sorry man. I have seen discussions about Bell and Rodgers using throttling. Pretty Cheesy practice. Instead of spending time and money throttling customersl they should expand the damn network capacity.
I will poke around some more, maybe find some other providers offering throttle free service. The site has a big canadian section.
